Samsung Galaxy S4 officially announced (specifications)

Samsung has just announced its newest flagship – the Galaxy S4, using the Roman numerals in naming have replaced only the number “4”. The device has – as expected – a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, which means a pixel density of 441. It remains a PenTile matrix, but we think that this does not matter, when there are so many pixels on a screen.

Processor

During the presentation there was little attention paid to the processor of the Galaxy S4, while this right already confused. The flagship will come in two variations, one of which runs on Samsng’s own Exynos chipset Octa 5, which runs on quad-core Cortex A-15 clocked at 1.6 GHz and four Cortex A-7 at a rate of 1.2 GHz. The graphics chipset is indeed PowerVR SGX GPU and 544MP3 no Mali. There will also be a second version in some markets to be released with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (quad core) with Adreno 320 GPU.

But what processor will be in the Dutch version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 sit? At first we thought the Qualcomm processor is intended for the U.S. market, but Samsung has just posted a tweet containing Netherlands include the feature: 1.9 GHz quad-core processor. This would mean that we get the same processor fitted as the HTC One, but with a higher clock speed. RAM (memory) is put on 2GB, but this is anything but a surprise.

And we have good news for you: it does not matter which processor the Galaxy S4 gets in the Netherlands, as both supporting 4G LTE.

Camera

At the back of the Galaxy S4 we find a 13.0 megapixel camera with a front 2.1 MP camera that can be used for taking photos, but also videos and video. Furthermore, the front camera to read your eyes, those new features like Smart Scroll and Pause control.

Dual Camera

With dual-camera feature, you can simultaneously record a video with your front and back camera. This could also operates when taking pictures.

Dimensions

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is in spite of all the additives is still thinner than the Galaxy S3, with a thickness of just 7.9 millimeters. Indeed, the width of the device is smaller than that of its predecessor, while the screen has grown by 0.2 inches. This is possible thanks to the thinner bezel of the S4. Also, the device is lighter than the third generation with a weight of only 130 grams.

Memory

The internal memory is divided in three different models, namely 16, 32 and 64 GB using a memory card and is further expandable to up to 64 GB.

Android

Default turns the Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.2.2.

Obtainable

An official release date Samsung has not given, but they said that in April the unit must be in the shops. The Galaxy S4 is available in two colors White and Black Frost Mist and during the presentation not discussed a price.
